"Hey, I'm not supposed to see those yellow numbers,
am I?"

"See, I CAN skate and chew gum at the same time!"

"PINK is the new black! Black is the OLD black, and denim is...
I forget."
OCTOBER
October 29-31: SHINE Event, Emmanuel Baptist Church

AUGUST

August 4 - 5:
The hot dog fellowships held at Veteran's Park in Marion were an overwhelming
success both physically and spiritually. Over 250 homes were served
information packets that included gospel tracts, coloring books promoting
EBC church activities, crayons, as well as anti-drug literature. During
the two-day event, over 600 Pepsi products were distributed. Over 250
hot dogs and 80 hamburgers were served. This activity involved our children's
ministry, youth, young adult, and senior adults. We not only ministered
to the families in the area but we also strengthened the unity of the
church as different types of ministries were involved in the effort.
Tony and Sheila Tabor led in the effort, organizing both the mailings
announcing that we were coming and the grocery items made available.
Jack and Michelle Berry (children's ministry directors) proved valuable
in helping cook, clean, and distribute at the concession trailer. Donnie
and Robin Taylor helped lead the youth in walking door to door handing
out the packets. Thanks to all who attended and we look forward to seeing
God increase the fruits of this project for years to come.

August
4 was the launch date for the Crittenden County Christian Softball
Fellowship. Please obtain copies of the schedule and come out to enjoy
being together as we exercise, worship, and fellowship together through
the end of the summer. Special thanks to our recreation team, Shawn
Stinnett, Emily Watson, and Eddie Lee Belt as they continue to lead
us in this opportunity.
JULY

July 30th: Thirteen
members of the Emmanuel Baptist Church gathered in northwest Marion
for a special prayer walk. Many of those participating gained valuable
insight into the number of homes, children, and needs in this area.
Their spoken testimonies reveal the power and infinite possibilities
available when God's people get outside the walls of the church and
begin to express God's love through faithful servant ministry.
July 30: Bro. Rob traveled to Tolu Methodist Church to participate in
their time of community revival. The congregation made him feel welcome
and appreciated. We look forward to working with them in the future.

In July we experienced
a wonderful week of Bible School featuring the Construction Zone:
Building Character for God. During the week we enrolled 165 with
an average attendance of 129. $125.00 was collected for missions work
being performed in Tijuana, Mexico.

Thanks
to all who labored, sacrificed, cleaned, served, taught, and encouraged
during this wonderful event. We especially thank our VBS leaders, Latisha
Belt and Melissa Gilland. Your Bible school ministry has
provided a model of dedication for all of our ministries to follow.
JUNE

June
6th -11th: Twenty-five students and leaders attended Wild Week
camp in Carlinsville, Illinois. Ken Freeman led the worship services,
Among Thorns
led in the praise. Our campers report the experience was, "a
blast, an inspiration," and they "can't wait to go back next
year." EBC leaders enjoyed the camp because they could provide
guidance to the students while allowing camp staff to physically and
spiritually minister to the participants
